Cameras have been getting smaller for years. DSLRs are getting more and more popular. One of the things they have in common is their size, or lack thereof. That lack of size makes them more difficult to hold steady, which means camera supports are more necessary. Tripods rule, but are not always practical and sometimes you just want a handheld shot. Not shaky, but handheld. This episode takes a look at one alternative.

Great tip, Bill. I just got a new Canon HD camcorder that is way smaller than my GL2 and this will really help. If you hang a weight on the bottom of it that will help stabilize it even more when using hand held. Something simple like a liter water bottle should even work well as the weight.

Good idea Tim. Yeah camcorders are getting smaller and smaller, unless of course you want to spend $30,000 for an XDCAM.
