One thing I did forget to mention is the On Air Pro app DOES allow you to mirror the text so I can be used for a through the lens set up. Once I find some time i will be building a prompter rig and will feature that on an episode.

Actually I will be building two rigs, one for the iphone and one for a 7″ monitor that will be fed by a laptop. Hmmmm, maybe I can make one rig to satisfy both….

Good tip, Bill. Mini plastic tackle boxes from any sporting goods store or even Walmart/Kmart/Target also do the job.

Good idea Tim. Yeah camcorders are getting smaller and smaller, unless of course you want to spend $30,000 for an XDCAM.

Great tip, Bill. I just got a new Canon HD camcorder that is way smaller than my GL2 and this will really help. If you hang a weight on the bottom of it that will help stabilize it even more when using hand held. Something simple like a liter water bottle should even work well as the weight.

It can be a minefield that is for sure. Mix in the fact that something that is free to use today, if it goes viral, the copyright holder may change their mind and then you have to go around proving when you got it, where, and that it was royalty free at that time.

Thanks for the advice Bill. In Australia we’ve even come across situation where legally purchased royalty free music which is totally fine to use on radio, tv and similar productions, wasn’t covered for on hold message use. Things got messy with the rights body here chasing things up. So this may be good to keep an ear out for too especially down under.
